.Letter from Golf Committee.

The Pro Shop and Golf Committee continue to receive questions (and some recent complaints) about cart usage on the golf course. While the guidelines for cart usage have been articulated in the Golf Section of the Club’s Book, many have understandably not read the entire book and, thus, may have missed the section on cart policies.

The language provided in the Club Book is as follows:

Damage to our golf course from the improper use of carts can be a significant maintenance problem. Please make sure that you and your guests follow the rules stated below. Violators will receive a letter from the Golf Committee. Violations will result in the loss of cart privileges and often result in the loss of club privileges. 

1. Carts must remain on established paths around all tees and greens and on the path (at all times) on the par 3 holes. There has been some confusion on this point in the past. Please keep the carts on the paths on all par 3 holes. 
2. Obey all posted directional signs and ropes.  
3. When wet, please avoid low spots, puddles, etc. In general, please use common sense. 
4. No carts should be operated for any purpose without the specific knowledge of a member of the Golf Shop staff. Carts may not be rented after 6:30 PM.  
5. Carts may not be rented or operated by persons under 16 years of age. 
6. No children under 4 years old are permitted on the course, range, or in carts at any time. 
7. Carts must be returned to the Golf Shop no later than 8:30 PM (or dusk) to ensure the safety of the operators as well as the staff who must secure them to prevent excessive deterioration and vandalism. Violation of this rule will result in loss of cart privileges. 
8. Carts should be returned to the Golf Shop promptly upon completion of a round. They should not be parked at the terrace. Such delays affect players waiting to start a round and adversely affect the servicing and recharging of carts.
