Dear Fellow Stanwich Member,

I write to bring you up to date on the Stanwich Patio Project. I am happy to report that the project is nearly complete (but operational) and under budget.  We will be finishing the final touches over the next ten days.  Allow me to provide you with a quick summary.

-Project budget was $2,755,000.
-It was funded via a $1,000,000 special assessment, $1,650,000 in borrowing and approx. $105,000 in cash from our Capital Fund.
-The project will be under budget despite the additional costs for new carpeting to the men’s locker room, upgrades to the back staircase and hallway leading to the upper deck, and the redecorating our formal living room (occurs this Fall).

This ambitious project was managed by Guy D’Ambrosio who did an absolutely incredible job. We can’t thank him enough.

I also want to recognize the efforts of a few outstanding Stanwich members who put hundreds of hours into this project:

-Dave Christie, our Treasurer, did an incredible job negotiating the refinancing of our existing debt. It was not an easy task, but he handled it like a true professional.

-Stephanie Wall, our House Chair, did an outstanding job making the hundreds of decisions relating to the furniture, finishes, fabrics, light fixtures, carpeting and just about everything else associated with the patio.   It looks amazing.

-Jim Tormey, our past President, is the one responsible for getting the patio approved. Without Jim’s leadership, we would be sitting under a leaky green awning this year.  This project would not have happened without him.
