THE STANWICH CLUB

Dear Member,

A disturbing trend has emerged regarding the effort our members (and their guests) are making to take care of our golf course. Specifically, we are experiencing increasing numbers of divots and ball marks that have not been repaired. Many members have commented on this trend and it’s time for a reminder to all players.

All members are responsible for themselves and their guests to restore playing conditions as they found them before each shot as best possible.

Mike Summa and Scott Niven will shortly present a video on how to repair "scattered" divots (work the edges of unreplaceable divots back towards the center of the divot to minimize impact area) and ball marks (work the edges of the ball mark to the center gently without causing root damage).

While pace of play is a priority at Stanwich, it is not an excuse to ignore the basic etiquette of maintaining the course and respecting other players' rights to a quality golf experience. Failure to do so may result in a suspension of playing privileges.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
